Texell Credit Union

Texell Credit Union – Texell is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, founded in 1948 to serve employees of the Temple Post Office, the Temple Veterans Administration Center and the Temple Soil Conservation Service. In 1983, after expanding their membership to include Temple Public School Teachers and the City of Temple the credit union’s name was changed to Temple Area Federal Credit Union. After another membership expansion to include all of Bell County, Texas the name was changed to Texell in July 2002.

Community Involvement

Texell believes giving back to the community supports the credit union industry’s motto of “People Helping People.” Their staff and members volunteer and raise funds for:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Head Start
  • American Cancer Society
  • Children’s Miracle Network

October 10, 2011 – Texell is a supporter of First Chance through the reduced honorarium program.
